RESCUED HORSES

WARNING!!! SOME OF THE PICTURES BELOW ARE GRAPHIC!!! MAY NOT BE SUITABLE FOR ALL VIEWERS!!!

Here are pics and info on a few of our rescued horses.

If you have a horse that you no longer want or can no longer provide for, please call us before taking them to a horse auction or letting them get into this shape.

Some of these horses came from horse traders (after being sold at several sales the horses move from one horse trader to the next not being fed or taken care of), some from people who took them to auctions after letting them get this thin, and some from good meaning people who were let down by people they trusted to be taking care of their beloved equine family members.

No matter what the situation, it always breaks our hearts to see horses in this condition. We are greatful however to the owners responsible enough to bring them to us rather than dumping them at a sale or even just letting them starve to death.

Meet “Pebbles” & “Bam Bam”!!!

Meet Bam Bam.

Bam BamBam Bam

This is Bam Bam, a bomb proof gelding that is older than I am and whom I’m sure has done more than his fair share of hard work in his days. Despite his age and current condition due to lack of proper care, he still has an evident zest for life and love for people. He especially loves rolls in the grass and dinner time of course! For more info on BamBam, contact me! CONSIDER BEING BAM BAM’S HORSEY HERO!!! See the Ways to Help page for more info on how!

Meet Pebbles.

PebblesPebbles

Her story is much the same as BamBam’s. She’s elderly, super broke, and I’m sure has been loved at some point in her life. There’s no doubt in my mind that both of these horses have dedicated their lives to making their humans happy which is what makes it even more sad that they end up in these situations. We hope to have them back up to great shape again soon at which time we want to incorporate them into our beginner lessons class where they can be loved on by children and have the wonderful easy life of retirement that they deserve. CONSIDER BEING PEBBLES’ HORSEY HERO!!! See the Ways to Help page for more info on how!

Meet Sas.

SasSasSas

We just got this beautiful girl in Sunday (8/19) with her buddy “Bubba”. When their owner went to check on them at the place he was boarding them, this is what he found. He brought them out to us so that we could take care of them and get them back into good health and find them loving homes. Check back every few weeks for updates and new pics.

SasSasSas

Take a look at Sas after just a week of being with us and receiving good care. She still looks awful, but she’s made great progress in a short amount of time. She is so malnourished that what hair she still has, isn’t thick enough to protect her skin from the sun and she has been badly sunburned.

SasSas

Look at Sas now! Can you believe this is the same horse?! These pics were taken of her less than 2 months after her arrival here at the rescue. She is looking and feeling great. We are about to start assessing her training and riding ability and prepare her for looking for a forever home with a new loving family. Everyone knows she deserves it! Check back for updates soon!

Meet Bubba.

BubbaBubbaBubba

“Bubba”- Came here with “Sas” on 8/19. He too is a gorgeous horse, just needs a lot of TLC at the moment. He is in the same awful condition as Sas but also has a nasty gash under his jaw.

BubbaBubbaBubba

Look at the difference in weight and how much Bubba’s wound has healed! He and Sas are both gaining like crazy and acting like they feel so much better. They both have toys to play with and they do constantly (Bubba thinks his water trough is the best toy we gave him). :)

BubbaBubbaBubba

Here’s a few pics of this handsome boy taken the first week of October. Isn’t he looking great! He will soon be under training evaluation and an assessment of his riding abilities will be conducted. He is getting excited about finding his forever home with a loving family.

ANY ONE WANTING TO DONATE FEED, HAY (ESPECIALLY NEEDED) OR MONEY THE DONATIONS WILL BE GREATLY APPRECIATED AND PUT TO GOOD USE!
Take a look at our WAYS TO HELP page for more info on donating, volunteering, and other ways you can help us continue to save these wonderful animals lives.

Meet Rosie.

RosieRosieRosie

This is Rosie 7 months after bringing her in. She has had a long uphill battle trying to come back from starvation but is in great shape now and hopefully going to a new wonderful forever home soon!

Lil Jo

Meet Hope.

HopeHope

These are a couple of pics of Hope when she first arrived. Can you believe how skinny she is?! She was so dehydrated and so malnourished she could barely walk. It still amazes me how people can do this to any living thing. She recovered well and has found her new forever home!

We have become a non-profit organization and are now able to give tax benefits to those of you who wish to donate.
